American Airlines is now instituting a $15 fee for checked luggage, apparently in an attempt to offset the rising cost of fuel. This has created more of a PR nightmare for them than if they would have just raised their rates $15, but who am I to say? Oh wait...I AM someone to say being a PR professional! HA HA!
This is just another instance of how we the people are suffering for the greed of the oil execs. Why don't the airline executives, or better yet all transportation executives, push back on the oil companies? Our country is being held hostage by one industry. Everyone EXCEPT the fat cats at the oil companies is suffering. Instead of going to work to earn money to buy things we need, we're going to work to buy gas to get back to work.
How does this make sense?

Don't you hate when your standing in the aisle of an airplane waiting for someone to shove their giant suitcase in the overhead compartment? Seriously - What happened to carry on bags containing a walkman, a book, and a few little things like that? Now they are encouraging people to have more carry ons? Seriously?? Next thing you know, people will have to ride with their suitcases on their laps. Hell, they just might open the windows and let people flap their arms. Good thing I'm too poor from filling my gas tank to take a vacation this year!!
Well, said Rhon! And you know how when the overhead bins get too full, they force people to check bags plane-side? So what will happen then? Will those people be assessed the $15 fee for checked bags? You know what will happen if they aren't...everyone will just bring everything to the plane and check it there.
